So after a positive first week dieting, including winning the week 1 weigh in at the dieting club at work, it was time for a Friday night treat. I won’t write at length about what is essentially a kebab and chips, but I have to say food fest in Ansdell saved my life.
Still in our second year of living on the Fylde, a good kebab shop is a must for any northern lad and this one is no exception. In my hometown, Chicken Donner, (or shawarma depending on the shop) just didn’t exist, but having eaten a fair bit of it in London I would have been gutted to have to go back to the pure Lamb derivative.
Thankfully Foodfest do a perfect Chicken Shawarma, with their website stating it is homemade. It certainly tastes it. The flavours in the meat are incredible. Served on light and tasty bread (I only ate half carb watchers!) with fresh salad, it is their homemade mild chilli sauce which deserves the plaudits. It is immense.
A few chips (whilst it’s Friday) and with the trademark red salt these were delivered hot and crispy. A perfect Friday night treat. I can also recommend the mixed shawarma as their Lamb meat is also excellent.
My go to Kebab shop in Lytham St Anne’s. Delivery is always fast and friendly.
Would love to hear of any more recommendations!
